THE GOOD NEWS

'The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the gospel.' [Mark 1.15]

Mankind was lost in sin, and helpless against the inevitability of death and judgement, with no means to obtain forgiveness and reconciliation with God. But when the appointed time had come [Galatians 4.4], God took pity on us, and sent His beloved Son the Lord Jesus Christ into the world, taking on human form by being born to a virgin called Mary, living a perfect life of faithful and obedient service to His Father, and dying a cruel death on a wooden cross, suffering the punishment that we deserved, taking our place. What a wonderful Saviour He is! Blessed be His Holy and glorious Name!

Jesus, the one Mediator between God and man, calls us into His Kingdom of love, joy and peace. 'Come unto Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest', He cried out to the multitudes, 'For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.' [Matthew 11: 28, 30] He gives a peace that the world cannot give, and joy inexpressible. His Name is Saviour, for He saves us from our sins [Matthew 1.21], and He is coming soon for His chosen people to deliver us from God's wrath that is to come upon the earth [1 Thessalonians 1.10]. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom [Proverbs 9.10] and it is foolishness to take no thought for our standing before God, and to occupy ourselves so fully with our daily activities that we have no time or energy to consider our eternal destiny and the consequences of our thoughtless and self-centred behaviour and unregenerate heart attitudes.

Salvation is only a prayer away. Come to the Lord Jesus, confessing and renouncing your sins, and putting your trust in Him and in His precious blood shed for our sakes on the cross. You will find rest, and peace beyond understanding. The love of God will be poured out in your heart by the Holy Spirit who is given to us [Romans 5.5], and you will pass from death to eternal life. Be baptised in water and Spirit, join a church, and serve the Lord with gladness in fellowship with other believers and in the presence of a holy God.
