REVIVAL

If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. [2 Chronicles 7.14]

Seek My face, the Lord says in His holy Word, and indeed we must seek Him first of all, for who He is, and get to know Him, spending time in His presence, getting to know Him, and learning to understand His ways. Above all else, we must put Him first in our lives, as our only God and King. Praise His holy and glorious Name forever more!

What an amazing thing He has done for us, sending His only Son the Lord Jesus Christ to suffer and die for us on the cross, bearing our sin and our shame, taking our place as if He were the guilty party and not us. 'He made Him who knew no sin to become sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.' [2 Corinthians 5.21] Let us therefore return to our first love, and do the works we did at first [Revelation 2.5]. He is always ready to open His arms and receive us back, forgiving and forgetting our backsliding, and renewing and refreshing us by His Holy Spirit. What a wonderful God we serve!

Corporate prayer is the key to revival. Jesus told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were baptised in the Holy Spirit and clothed with power from on high, and they continued steadfastly in one accord in prayer and supplication until the Spirit was poured out upon them on the Day of Pentecost. How we long for another outpouring of the Holy Spirit to revive us and empower us to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ with authority and power!
